 Item Code: P-VOL These guidelines were developed by GMA/FPA's Open Date Labeling Task Force to assist food manufacturers and processors with the voluntary open code dating of foods. Although several guidance documents exist, especially in the international arena, no document is avaliable that reflects the industry's current thinking on open dating of foods. the Guidelines cover open date labeling of shelf-stable foods, as well as refregerated and frozen foods, and will help food processors establish a voluntary standard for the entire industry to follow with regard to labeling.
